Jesse Lingard’s possible departure from Manchester United is reportedly only likely to happen towards the end of the transfer market this month, according to a report from the Manchester Evening News.

Lingard had a wonderful loan spell at West Ham United in the latter half of last campaign, which almost got the player into the England squad for the UEFA Euro 2020.

The Irons are interested in signing the playmaker on a permanent deal, but the Red Devils’ £30 million asking price is proving to be prohibitive.

There are also reports that Lingard has told manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that he is keen to stay at Manchester United and see out his deal next season.

Manchester United are open to proposals for him but it has been suggested that a transfer is only likely to take place towards the end of the window.

Several clubs across the continent are interested in the star but are aware that they could land the midfielder on a free transfer next year.

Clubs who want the Englishman this summer are likely to wait a few more weeks in order to force the Old Trafford outfit to lower their asking price.

Manchester United are also content to keep him if he remains at the club beyond the end of the transfer period.

But at the moment there is no imminent sign of Jesse leaving Manchester United at this stage of the market.
