Manchester United have been handed the chance to sign Alex Telles for €20 million (£18.5m) after Porto board lowered their asking price, according to the latest reports in Portugal.
United have made the landing of Jadon Sancho their priority for the remainder of the transfer market but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is also keen to add a new left-back to his roster.
United have been in talks to land Sergio Reguilon from Real Madrid, but discussions hit a stumbling block earlier this week as the Spanish side demanded a buy-back clause.
Meantime, Porto are open to selling Alex Telles and reports in Portugal have stated that the Brazilian’s agents have already travelled to England for talks with United.
The Dragons had initially set a €30m (£27.7m) asking price for their player earlier this summer.
But according to A Bola, the cub are now wary of the 27-year-old being able to depart on a free transfer when his contract expires next year and are now willing to accept a €20m (£18.5m) transfer sum for the defender.
A Bola also report that the Red Devils are the ‘main interested party’, however other clubs are also keen.
Alex Telles, who has also been linked with Wolves and Chelsea, scored 11 goals and registered eight assists in 31 games for Porto last season.
When asked about further arrivals at the club, Solskjaer said this week:
‘We’re always looking to improve the squad, scouting players and, if something fits, both the financial bit and the football bit, of course we’ll try to make some business.
‘But we can’t know how the markets and how other clubs have been affected either.’
