Manchester United have reportedly been in discussions with Portuguese playmaker Bruno Fernandes since November over a new and improved deal at Old Trafford.
The 26-year-old midfielder has found back of the net 29 times and provided 20 assists in 54 games for the 20-times English champions since arriving from Sporting Lisbon last January, including 17 goals and 12 assists in 32 appearances this season.
Fernandes’s existing contract with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side is set to expire in June 2025, with the option of an additional 12 months, however, according to The Athletic, the Portugal international is in line for a new contract that will see his current wages increased due to his impressive form.
The report suggests that the Red Devils have been in talks with the attacker over the last three months with the view to handing him a new contract and improved deal in 2021.
Bruno Fernandes has been vital to the Red Devils rise to second position in this campaign Premier League, scoring 12 goals and 10 assists in 22 games in England’s top flight.
Barcelona and Real Madrid are reportedly both keeping a close tabs on the midfielder ahead of this summer’s transfer window.
