Manchester United have reportedly ‘cooled’ their interest in Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland and are prioritising deals for a new right wide attacker and a new central defender, according to the latest reports.
Haaland is expected to be one of the most sought-after players during the summer transfer window with Barcelona and Real Madrid already holding talks to sign the Norway international.
Chelsea and Manchester City are also interested in the player, while United have revived their interest having come close to signing the attacker in December 2019.
However, The Athletic claims that United have eased off in their pursuit of Erling ahead of the summer window as they look to focus on bolstering other areas of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad.
The report adds that United are instead looking at landing a new right winger, as well as a new centre-half partner for Harry Maguire.
United had prioritised a deal to land Jadon Sancho last summer, but they were unable to reach an agreement with Die Borussen as the Bundesliga club were demanding in excess of £100m for the England international.
Elsewhere, Southampton are reportedly keen on taking Manchester United defender Brandon Williams on loan for the 2021-22 season.
