Reports have claimed that Manchester United are now interested in signing Dutch sensation Cody Gakpo
Gakpo has been in excellent form for the Dutch giants this season, scoring 10 goals and providing 11 assists in all competitions this season
And reports in the media have claimed that United are considering him as a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, who could leave the club at the end of the current season
The 22-year-old Netherlands international is expected to make a big-money transfer at some stage in the near future, with the Premier League seemingly set to be his next port of call.
AND according to The Mirror, United are interested in making a £22 million move to try and sign the Dutchman.
He told Voetbal4U, via Sport Witness: “He has been in the Eredivisie for a year now, you have to have a basis to succeed abroad. That is three, four years in the Netherlands.
“Then you are just a bit stronger, a bit better prepared for the higher level abroad – because it all goes much harder and faster. But nowadays, they all want to leave after one year.
“The sooner you leave, the greater the chance of not succeeding. If you do not succeed in those two, three years, then you go to another club that is less. Then your career is going to look very nasty.”
