Barcelona have reportedly told French forward Ousmane Dembele that he will be sold during this summer’s transfer window unless he agrees to extend his contract.
The 24-year-old was a regular for Ronald Koeman’s side during the 2020-21 season, playing 44 games in all competitions, founding back of the net 11 times and provided five assists in the process.
Dembele’s current contract at Camp Nou is set to expire next summer, though, a recent report suggested that Barcelona were becoming increasingly uncomfortable with the forward contract situation.
According to ESPN, the World Cup winning forward will have to look for a new team in the current market unless he pens a fresh deal with the Catalan giants.
The report suggests that Barcelona are disappointed with Dembele’s lack of urgency when it comes to addressing his future, however, they have been largely happy with his form.
The France international is believed to be a target for both Premier League giants Manchester United and Arsenal as they are in the current market to make offensive reinforcements in order to compete for the 2021/22 trophy.
Barcelona another French forward Antoine Girezmann has been also rumoured with a switch to Arsenal and Man Utd.
