Manchester United have been linked with Nikola Milenkovic fort quite some time and the latest reports seem highly optimistic for the Premier League giants.
Back in November 2020, Calcio Mercatorevealed that the Red Devils are prepared to offer a lucrative deal to hire the services of the Fiorentina star. However, Solskjaer did not sign any defender in the winter transfer window.
Now, as per a recent report covered by La Repubblica (via Calcio Mercato), Man Utd lead to finally sign the Serbian defender, who is valued at around £30.6million, in the summer transfer window.
Moreover, renowned Sky Sports journalist, Angelo Mangiante, has also claimed that the Old Trafford club are the first choice to lure the 23-year-old star from the Serie A side, who are finding it difficult to agree a new contract with the player.
Milenkovic will be out of contract in the summer of 2022 and this season, so far, he has not been rock solid at the back for Fiorentina, who are struggling in the bottom half of the season.
In 19 league appearances this term, the 26-capped international has helped his team keep 5 clean sheets. On the other hand, in the attacking third, he has managed to score 2 goals and provide an assist as well.
Keeping in view that his contract will expire next year, I think that the asking price of £30.6million is very high. Reports in Italy suggested that his signing could have been secured in the winter for a fee of 25 million euros (La Nazione).
Man Utd conceded goals on regular basis in the first few months of this season but things have been pretty solid at the back lately. In the last 7 league games, the Red Devils have managed to keep 5 clean sheets and conceded just 3 goals.
Do you think that Ole needs to further strengthen the central defense at Old Trafford. Should Man United move in to sign Nikola Milenkovic in the summer?
