The 23-year-old star struggling for first-team minutes in the Premier League last term. The forward was restricted to just 15 top-flight appearances.
With the recent arrival of the England international Jadon Sancho, the youngster could drop further down the pecking order. There have been rumours that he could be sold.
According to the aforementioned source, La Dea have emerged as potential contenders to snap up the Wales international this summer.
The Italian side have the knack of pursuing quality acquisitions at low costs, and believe Daniel would fit into their plans ideally.
It is unclear whether the Red Devils will sanction the ace’s exit, particularly with Marcus Rashford out for two months after a shoulder surgery.
He is still unlikely to earn regular playing time with Jesse Lingard, Mason Greenwood, Anthony Martial and Sancho for competition.
Paul Pogba also played frequently on the left wing during the back end of last campaign. James has three years remaining on his Old Trafford contract.
