Manchester United are eyeing a swoop for Aurelien Tchouameni, and a summer deal could take place soon, according to Duncan Castles.
The French midfielder was an important player for Monaco last campaign as he racked up 42 appearances across all competitions while he also netted 3 goals in that process.
Although Chelsea were mentioned with the player initially, the 20-time English champions could also orchestrate a reported move for the ace.
Talking on Reach PLC’s Transfer Window Podcast, the journalist talked about the player’s situation and how the 21-year-old Les Monegasques star is being eyed as a long-term replacement by the Red Devils for Paul Pogba.
“Manchester United, [Tchouameni] very much falls within their scouting remit. He is an obvious fit for Manchester United if the change in midfield happens that we’ve been talking about for so long, which is that Paul Pogba doesn’t sign a new contract at Man United or is sold this summer.
“If they have that space in their squad created by Pogba, then Tchouameni is one of the options to replace”.
Castles also explained that the Ligue 1 side currently value their prized asset at £34 million, but that could change before the end of August.
