Manchester United head-coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will reportedly not allow Daniel James to depart from the club before the end of this summer’s transfer window.
The 23-year-old winger has been a regular for the 20-times English champions since arriving from Swansea City in 2019, playing 73 games in all competitions, and he was named in the starting XI against Leeds United on the opening weekend of the 2021-22 season.
James’s future has been the subject of many rumours in recent weeks, though, with a number of teams believed to be keen on securing his services in the current window.
According to The Athletic, the Wales international forward will not be sold or loaned out in August, as Solskjaer regards him as a vital part of the first-team at Old Trafford.
The report suggests that the Man United head-coach views James as a ‘dependable’ performer, and the Norwegian wants to retain the forward following due to his ‘attitude and application to the tactics’.
The Welshman, who still has three years left to run on his current deal, he has found back of the net nine times and providednine assists during his time with the 20-time English champions.
