Atletico Madrid allegedly view Kieran Trippier as ‘untransferable’ in spite of suggestions that Manchester United are closing in on a summer deal for the England international.
The Red Devils are said to have identified the 30-year-old former Tottenham Hotspur man as the perfect player to provide competition for first-choice Aaron Wan-Bissaka at right-back next campaign.
A recent report stated that the 20-time English champions were on the brink of securing a deal for the player, who played a key role in Los Rojiblancos winning last season’s La Liga title.
However, according to a recent report from Spanish publication AS, Diego Simeone’s side are not willing to allow him to leave this summer’s transfer market due to his importance to the capital heavyweights.
Atletico Madrid are not under any immediate pressure to cash in on the full-back, as Trippier has a contract at the Wanda Metropolitano until June 2023, but the Englishman is said to be keen on a return to the English top-flight.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have already agreed on a deal to sign Jadon Sancho from the German club Borussia Dortmund and are believed to be closing in on Real Madrid and France centre-half Raphael Varane.
