Man United star Paul Pogba explains why he was wearing Juventus shirt in training video

Paul Pogba has explained the reason behind his decision to wear a Juventus shirt whilst training amid rumours of a return to the Serie A giants.

The Frenchman put his time in coronavirus quarantine to good use by working on his fitness at home accompanied by Man Utdteammate Victor Lindelof.

Pogba sported a Juve shirt for the workout, but was quick to play down any links with his former club.

He stated it was merely a nod to his French compatriot and Juve star Blaise Matuidi, who has been struck down by the virus.

In a post on Instagram, Pogba wrote: “Supporting our Juventus and Sampdoria friends @blaisematuidiofficiel, @albinekdal and all athletes and people around the world who are facing this difficult moment.

He added: “(I know the cheeky ones will talk about the Juventus jersey, I’m just supporting my friends … that’s all, nothing more.”

The duo are not the first United players to meet up for training, after Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot enjoyed a garden kickabout on Wednesday.
