Lee Sharpe thinks Manchester United will become Premier League title contenders if the club sign Jadon Sancho and Erling Haaland in the summer.
The Red Devils have held an interest in the Englishman for well over a year and declared interest in signing the wide attacker from Borussia Dortmund last summer.
Norway centre-forward Haaland has also been linked with a transfer to Old Trafford, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer still looking for a long-term striker to guide the Old Trafford outfit to titles.
Lee, speaking exclusively to Ladbrokes, said: ‘There are always areas on the pitch you can strengthen as a side and I think there are two lads currently playing for Dortmund that Man United should seriously be looking at.
‘Jadon Sancho on the right – I think United are still lacking real quality out in that position. And the other name is obviously Erling Haaland.
‘If they were to go out and get those two names in then they wouldn’t be far off being a real team.’
Meantime, Manchester United are allegedly preparing to hand Bruno Fernandes a fresh contract worth £200,000 per week, with the club keen to reward the playmaker for his displays since arriving at Old Trafford.
The 26-year-old has again been in brilliant form for the Red Devils during the 2020-21 season, scoring 22 times and registering 13 assists in 40 matches in all competitions.
According to The Sun, Bruno is only the seventh-best player at United, having been awarded a £100,000 per week contract upon his arrival from Sporting CP in January 2020.
The report states that Manchester United want to hand him a fresh £200,000-a-week deal, which will include various extras based on trophies, goals and appearances.
