Manchester United have allegedly held talks with Kieran Trippier over a possible return to England, with the defender open to coming back to the Premier League.

The Red Devils are making plans for the summer transfer market already.

United are reportedly set to have a quiet January and are unlikely to make any serious acquisitions.

They have spent big this year already, having forked out £46.5 million for the star midfielder Bruno Fernandes, £19 million on Atalanta BC’s Amad Diallo and £40.5 million for the Netherlands international Donny van de Beek.

But the 20-times English champions are unlikely to follow that up with any more significant business.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s outfit are sitting pretty in the Premier League standings after a strong spell of results.

And in the January window, they are apparently reluctant to make any serious signings to improve the roster.

However, they have held discussions with Trippier over a potential future transfer, according to a report by The Athletic.

The right-back has been at the Marid-based club since the 2019 summer transfer window, as Kieran left Tottenham on a free transfer.

He has been successful out in La Liga, and has become one of the Argentine manager Diego Simeone’s favourite players.

But regardless of his successes in Spain, he is apparently open to the idea of returning to England.

Meantime, Manchester United and their league rivals Liverpool could reportedly rekindle their interest in Watford and Senegal attacker Ismaila Sarr during the January transfer market.
