Manchester United were looking to lure Jack Grealish from Aston Villa in the summer transfer window but opted not to meet the asking price of £80million (The Mirror).
Former striker, Louis Saha, has now backed Man Utd to finally secure the signing of the England international to improve their attack.
The retired French center forward believes that Grealish and Sancho are quality players, who would help set more goals for the strikers at Old Trafford.
The 42-year-old said (via ES):
“It’s unfortunate Man United couldn’t get deals in place for Jack Grealish and Jadon Sancho last summer because they are two amazing players.”
“Both are amazing players and they’d improve any side. They’re so confident and would be really useful for Man United’s strikers.”
Our focus is on Grealish. Recent reports (The Mirror) suggest that now, the valuation of the £130,000-a-week playmaker is at least £100million and Man Utd are looking to once again establish their interest to sign him.
The 3-capped international was the best player for his boyhood club last season and it will be fair to say that without him, Dean Smith’s team would have been relegated. He directly contributed in 14 goals (36 appearances) to keep his team up. He netted a world class goal at Old Trafford as well.
In the summer, the Birmingham based club opted to agree a new deal with their prized asset and this season, he has already contributed in 13 goals (5 goals, 8 assists) in just 14 Premier League games.
Earlier in the campaign, he scored 2 goals and provided 3 assists against champions Liverpool and currently, Villa are just 6 points behind the league leaders with a game in hand.
Jack Grealish is a versatile playmaker, who is mainly a CAM but he has mostly excelled on the left flank under Dean Smith. For now, we have Rashford for LW and Fernandes for the CAM positions, so, do you think Man Utd really need to sign the Villa captain?
