Manchester United’s board are growing more confident that midfielder Paul Pogba will have a change of heart and stick with the club this coming summer, reports say.

The Red Devils reclaimed top spot in the Premier League this week with a hard fought 2-1 win over Fulham and it was the Frenchman who grabbed the winner with a stunning striker.

The latest goal marks an incredible change in fortunes for the player, whose time at United looked all but over following Mino Raiola’s comments in last year’s December, for which Ole Gunnar Solskjaer deserves immense credit.

Mino, who represents Pogba, stated in an interview that the midfielder was unhappy and that his time at the club had come to an end, earmarking the coming summer as when he should depart Old Trafford for a second time.

The ‘super agent’ name-checked Andrea Pirlo’s Juventus as a possible destination, with Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain also being linked, with Pogba’s deal currently set to expire in 2022.

However, according to the Daily Star, the Red Devils are ‘growing increasingly confident’ that Paul will perform a U-turn and decide to stay this summer as the team continue to impress in the league.

It’s reported that he’s willing to put his plans to depart on hold as he has become more convinced that Solskjaer’s team can go on to lift trophies which will ‘help him fulfil his ambitions at club level.’

Meanwhile, United have allegedly stolen a march on Barcelona and Manchester City in the race to land Palmeiras forward Gabriel Veron.

Spanish outlet Sport believe United are frontrunners to sign the youngster having worked behind the scenes to acquire his services.
