Man Utd continue chase for AC Milan creative midfielder

Manchester United are ‘very likely’ to land Hakan Calhanoglu on a free transfer from the Serie A giants AC Milan, according to the latest reports.

The 26-year-old’s current deal with the Rossoneri expires next summer and is able to arrange terms in the upcoming transfer market.

Juventus, Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan have all been linked with a move for the Turkish star.

But according to Bild’s Christian Falk, the Red Devils are in advanced negotiations with Hakan over a free transfer next summer.

Falk also states that the midfielder has already rejected a potential move to Juventus because he favours a move to Old Trafford.

‘Yes it’s true and I think this will happen because last summer there were already talks with his agent,’ Christian told the Stretford Paddock.

‘I don’t know if you know that Juventus would have also have liked him last summer but he said, ‘no’.

‘He said no because he already knew what would happen this summer with United.

‘Talks are already very, very far at the moment and he’ll be a free agent, so this transfer is very, very likely.’

Meantime, Manchester United have allegedly offered Timothy Fosu-Mensah a fresh contract.

The 22-year-old star was reintroduced into the senior team at United after the lockdown period earlier in 2020 and has been involved on two occasions for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s outfit this term.

Fosu-Mensah’s current contract at Old Trafford is due to expire next June, but according to the Manchester Evening News, the Dutchman has been offered fresh terms.

The report claims that Ole is determined to keep hold of the defender, having been impressed by his training displays prior to the enforced lockdown.
