Manchester United are allegedly set to battle Liverpool for the services of Lille midfielder Renato Sanches.
The 23-year-old Portuguese talent is out of action with a muscular injury at the minute but has enjoyed a successful spell in France since his ill-fated loan stint at Swansea City.
Sanches has made eight Ligue 1 appearances this term for Lille, who currently top the rankings in the French top-flight.
And the Portugal international has since been strongly linked with a move to Liverpool amid uncertainty over Georginio Wijnaldum’s future.
However, Gazzetta dello Sport states that Manchester United are also admirers of Les Dogues midfielder, while Antonio Conte’s Inter Milan are keeping tabs on developments.
The report adds that Lille may entertain offers for Renato given the need to balance the books, and an offer of €20 million (£18.2m) may be enough to prise the former Bayern Munich ace away from the Stade Pierre-Mauroy.
The technically gifted player is contracted to Christophe Galtier’s side until the end of the 2022-23 season.
Meanwhile, Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo has allegedly emerged as a possible transfer target for Newcastle United.
The 30-year-old defender is one of a number of stars at Old Trafford who have been frozen out by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer during the first half of the season.
Having not featured in a single match in any competition, Rojo is now being targeted by a number of outfits from the Premier League and abroad.
Although Sheffield United have been suggested as a potential destination, The Athletic claims that the Magpies are also monitoring the situation.
