Manchester United and Liverpool have reportedly identified Aston Villa starlet Carney Chukwuemeka as a potential transfer target for the summer transfer window.
While the winter transfer window closed on Monday evening, teams around Europe are continuing to assess their options for this summer.
According to The Times, the two Premier League heavyweights are planning whether to make a formal approach for 17-year-old attacker, Chukwuemeka.
The teenager missed out on an appearance in the FA Cup last month because he had already been invited to train with the Villians first-team team, which had been affected by coronavirus cases.
Juventus, Bayern Munich and Manchester City are also said to be admirers of the prospect, who has made 11 games in Premier League 2 this campaign.
Meanwhile, Liverpool and Manchester United’s hopes of securing the services of Jamal Musiala are reportedly dwindling as the starlet looks set to sign a new contract with Bayern Munich and extend his stay at Allianz Stadium.
The England Under-21s international has recently been rumoured with a switch to the English top-tier after entering the final 18 months of his current deal at the German giants.
Rather than lose the attacking playmaker for free at the end of next campaign, Bayern Munich were believed to be looking to cash in this summer if fresh terms could not be agreed.
However, Goal reports that talks between the Bundesliga giants and Musiala are progressing well and he is now expected to put pen to paper on a new long-term contract.
