Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are reportedly set to go head-to-head it out to secure the services of Inter Milan centre-back Diego Godin.
The 34-year-old defender has joined the Italian outfit after spending nine years at Atletico Madrid, however, has failed to make a lasting impression in Serie A since his arrival at San Siro.
Godin reportedly snubbed the 20-times English champions when Jose Mourinho was in the charge at Old Trafford two years ago, however, according to The Mirror, the North London club, Tottenham are ready to sign him as Jose Mourinho plans to make a second attempt at land him.
With uncertainty surrounding Jan Vertonghen’s current situation at White Hart Lane, the report suggests that Mourinho is looking to shore up his backline in the near future.
Having established a reputation as one of the world’s centre-backs over the past few years, the Red Devils are supposedly set to revive their interest in Uruguay international defender, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reportedly keen to add experience to his backline.
Godin’s current contract at the San Siro will end in the summer of 2022 and its interesting whether he makes move to Premier League or remain in Serie A.
