Manchester United were heavily linked with a move to sign Erling Haaland in the winter transfer window this year but the Norwegian striker opted to move to Dortmund instead.

The 20-year-old signed a contract worth £130,000-a-week deal with the German side (Mail) and since then, he has been in world class form. On the other hand, the forwards at Old Trafford have struggled.

Anthony Martial has mainly played in the No.9 role under Solskjaer and this season, the French international has been out of form. The former Monaco man, who is not even an out and out CF, has so far managed to score just a single goal in 8 PL starts.

Cavani was lured in the summer and the Uruguayan has mainly warmed the bench thus far. He is a proven quality striker, who has started only once in the PL this term and scored 3 goals.

The main issue with the South American goalscorer is that he is a short term fix and will turn 34 next year. It must be remembered that Ighalo’s loan spell will end soon.

Therefore, a top striker should be signed to improve things up front and Athletic claim that Man Utd want priority signing of Haaland. However, the renowned source have mentioned that super agent, Mino Raiola, could cause trouble for the Red Devils.

In 14 appearances this season, the former RB Salzburg striker has already netted 17 goals this term for BvB but at the moment, he is out injured and has missed the last 7 games due to a muscle concern.

Man Utd are in a very strong position in the league heading into the winter transfer window and Solskjaer should be backed next month to reinforce the squad.

In your view, who should the Red Devils sign to improve their strike-force in the January transfer window?
