Manchester United retain interest in Brazilian wonderkid Gabriel Veron
According to Italian outlet CalcioMercato (h/t Sports Mole), Manchester United are still interested in Brazilian starlet Gabriel Veron.
The Red Devils are one of the frontrunners for the teenager’s signature and could make a move for him this summer. A product of the Palmeiras youth setup, Veronmade his first-team debut for the Brazilian outfit in November 2019. Since then, he has racked up 40 senior appearances, producing a handy return of 11 goals and 5 assists. (h/t Transfermarkt)
The youngster is expected to change clubs this summer. Italian side Sassuolo appears to be among those leading the line for his capture. As things stand, the Serie A side are set to ramp up their efforts in the coming days. It remains to be seen if United too will up the ante.
Veron is capable of playing on either flank and is a versatile attacker. While he still has much to fine-tune, there is enough potential in him to make it big at the top level.
Veron was one of Brazil’s best players when they lifted the Under-17 FIFA World Cup back in 2019. Ever since he has been on the radars of top clubs across Europe. It finally appears that he could be on the way to mainland Europe.
The youngster is contracted with Palmeiras till the summer of 2025. An earlier report by UOLbetween €25m and €30m. While paying such an amount for a teenager is always a gamble, it could pay off massively.
United signed Amad Diallo last January and are also linked with Eduardo Camavinga. Having already signed Jadon Sancho, youth appears to be the flavour of the summer at Old Trafford.
