Old Trafford played host to a dismal performance from Manchester United last Thursday, that much was obvious. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side would bounce back with a gritty win against West Ham – but now it’s time for a massive second-leg against the Serie A big-boys.
If anything, this time around it’s going to be tougher for the Reds. The game will be played in the San Siro, while Milan are expecting a few players to return – including Zlatan Ibrahimovic…
I genuinely believe this one could go either way but one thing I do know is United have to score or they’re out. The good news for Solskjaer is that a few of his players may well make their comeback from injury, too…
With that in mind, let’s get right into the predicted team for this one.
Check out the predicted Man Utd XI vs AC Milan in full here:
David de Gea has finished his period of isolation and I fully expect Solskjaer to revert to his number one here.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka starts at right-back as per usual, with the best left-back in the country, Luke Shaw, a cert to play from the off in this one. Harry Maguire always starts these big games so we should expect that trend to continue here. Picking his partner was tough but I’ve gone for Victor Lindelof.
The midfield three pretty much picks itself. Scott McTominay will bring the physicality and energy, while you know Fred will cover every blade of grass and get stuck in. Pressure, as per usual, will be firmly on Bruno Fernandes’ shoulders.
Edinson Cavani should be fit enough for selection here and I believe he’ll start as the lead striker. A half-fit Marcus Rashford will play off the left-wing, with Mason Greenwood returning to the right-hand side of our attack.
Hopefully, the likes of Paul Pogba, Donny van de Beek and Anthony Martial are fit enough for spots on the bench.
