Manchester United wanted to sign Ousmane Dembele last summer but the French international decided to stay at the Nou Camp (Sport).
As per the latest reports, the Red Devils remain interested in the Les Bleus star and have made an offer to hire his services.
According to Mundo Deportivo (press image provided below), Barca president Joan Laporta’s first job to resolve the futures of the players who will be out of contract this summer or in 2022.
The Spanish source have discussed the likes of Messi, Dembele, Roberto Ilaix and Mingueza but our focus is on the former Borussia Dortmund attacker, who is on the wish-list at Old Trafford.
MD have reported that the 23-year-old winger will be out of contract in the summer of 2022 and Barca consider it essential to renew his deal. It is stated that an avalanche of moves have been made for the World Cup winning attacker and Man Utd have made an offer as well.
Dembele proved his worth in Germany with Dortmund and then moved to Barcelona to replace Neymar. Unfortunately, regularly injury concerns have not helped him grow with the Catalan giants.
Last season, he only made 9 appearances in all competitions and was mostly on the treatment table.
As far as this season is concerned, the £215,000-a-week star (The Sun) has mainly remained fit and has only missed 5 games due to a hamstring issue. So far, in 32 appearances, he has netted 8 goals and provided 4 assists.
Man United do need to improve their right wing position and Dembele has the quality to strengthen the offense. However, his poor injury record should put the suitors off.
