Ander Herrera wants to return Manchester United according to guardian.
Manchester United ‘could re-sign Ander Herrera’ following Lionel Messi’s move to PSG
Manchester United could be about to bring Ander Herrera back to the club.
Manchester United may re-sign Ander Herrera from Paris Saint-Germain in the wake of Lionel Messi’s move to the club, reports say. The Spain international previously spent five years at Old Trafford. And, now, a stunning return may be on the cards.
Manchester United are set to be frugal throughout the rest of the transfer window.
Having spent big on Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane, the Red Devils are now ready to abandon pursuits of the likes of Kieran Trippier, Saul Niguez, Eduardo Camavinga and Ruben Neves.
However, should the right players become available for the right price, then United are still open to strengthening their squad.
And the Guardian say a shock return for Herrera could feasibly happen this summer after PSG transfer listed the Spain international.
The Ligue 1 giants have sealed a massive deal for Messi, landing the Barcelona icon on a free following his Nou Camp exit.
And Herrera to United could now be on with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer still eyeing a midfielder.
The Red Devils snapped up the midfielder from Athletic Bilbao back in the summer transfer window of 2014, following Louis van Gaal’s appointment.
He became a key player under the Dutchman though it was under Jose Mourinho where he really flourished, establishing himself as a regular under the Portuguese.
The 31-year-old won the FA Cup under Van Gaal, while claiming the Europa League and EFL Cup with Mourinho at the helm.
And he was a vital asset to Solskjaer before choosing to leave back in the summer transfer window of 2019, having grown fed up at the club’s failure to speed up a new contract.
