Manchester United are leading the race for Eintracht Frankfurt attacker Andre Silva, according to a recent report from Goal.
The ongoing season has seen Andre take his game up a notch as the player has plundered 23 goals in just 27 Bundesliga outings, while delivering seven assists as well, leading Die Adler’s surprise charge for a top-four finish in the German top-flight.
This has now led to him drawing interest from a number of big clubs across Europe including the Red Devils and Barcelona.
The Old Trafford side’s interest in Silva makes total sense considering that United have lacked a prolific No.9 in their ranks this season.
Anthony Martial has underwhelmed big time while Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood have been used out wide more often than not by boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Edinson Cavani has done well since joining the club, but his deal runs out at the end of the campaign.
Even if he does stay at United for another year, the Uruguayan is a short-term fix at best and a new striker must be a top priority for them ahead of next season.
To that end, Manchester United have been linked with a swoop for Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland but given the competition for the Norwegian ace as well as his massive valuation, someone like Andre can be a viable alternative for the Red Devils.
