According to The Guardian, Manchester United are set to face off against Manchester City for Carney Chukwuemeka.
The 17-year-old midfielder is one of the best young players in the nation and has impressed in the Aston Villa academy. His progress has seen a number of clubs sit up and take notice.
The youngster was an unused substitute in Villa’s Premier League home games against Manchester City and Leicester City this season. While he is yet to make his first-team bow, it could be a matter of when and not if.
Chukwuemeka is held in high regard at Villa. The club’s chief executive Christian Purslow even went as far as to claim that the youngster was the best 16-year-old in the country.
An imposing figure at 6ft, the Villa starlet is an attacking player who possesses excellent technical ability and can glide past opponents.

The 17-year-old signed a three year deal with Villa last year. The Villans for their part are keen to keep him on for years to come. City’s interest adds further spice to what could be an almighty tussle for one of the country’s best young talents.
Chukwuemeka is a regular for Villa’s Under-23 side and has made 21 appearances for them. During this time, he has scored once and assisted three more.
