According to German outlet Kicker, Manchester United transfer target Kingsley Coman has rejected a lucrative fresh contract from Bayern Munich.

The 24-year-old star’s decision has however not led to any panic at Die Roten, but the developing current situation could be worth watching for the likes of United who are interested in the player.

With his injury problems now behind him, Kingsley is coming into his own as a dominant wide attacker. He has made 27 appearances this season, netting six goals and making 13 assists so far.

The player’s deal at Bayern runs until 2023. In spite of there still being time left, the club are afraid of him eventually moving on a free, something the Bavarians are set to experience with David Alaba this summer.

The European champions are interested in renewing the player’s deal until 2026. However, talks at this point in time have been interrupted.

United have been keen on Kingsley for some time now. According to the report, an offer of €15.6 million per year was made for Coman last year but the Parisian star decided to stay in the Bundesliga.

Having won it all at the Bundesliga club, it remains to be seen if Coman will seek a fresh challenge with United.

The English giants are seeking to embark on a return to the top and Kingsley could write his name into history with the Red Devils.

United could be set to offer him lucrative terms to move to Premier League. The forward could earn as much as £260,000 per week before taxes at Old Trafford.

Currently earning £140,000 per week at the Allianz Arena, a move to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team will pay off richly for the player.
