Senior figures at Manchester United are reportedly ‘in agreement’ over Declan Rice with the club keen on signing the West Ham United star.

22-year-old Rice has played a key role in West Ham’s push for European qualification this term, captaining the side for much of the term and having played every minute of their league season.

Chelsea have been strongly linked with a move for their former academy talent but that interest is believed to have been largely driven by Frank Lampard, fading since Thomas Tuchel’s arrival at the club in late January.

United have also been touted with interest and according to the Daily Express, boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, technical director Darren Fletcher and football director John Murtough are in agreement Declan would ‘be an asset’ at Old Trafford.

West Ham value their player at an eye-watering £100 million – with Irons boss David Moyes insisting his player is worth even more than that.

‘I don’t agree with the owners that Declan Rice is a £100m footballer. Far, far more than £100m. Far, far more.’ he said in February.

United are also said to have their eye on a centre-back and a striker heading into the summer transfer market.

They have been linked with La Liga trio Jules Kounde, Pau Torres and Raphael Varane as part of their search for long-term partner for Harry Maguire in the defence while Erling Haaland allegedly tops their list for a new focal point up front.
