Fred is willing to sign a new contract with Manchester United after his eye-catching turnaround in form for the club.
The former Shakhtar Donetsk player struggled during his debut season at Old Trafford after signing for £52 million back in 2018.
But he is now prepared to extend his current £130,000-a-week contract which expires in three years according to The Sun.
The 27-year-old star has become one of the first names on the team-sheet at the Red Devils this season.
He now wants a bump-up in wages to reflect that with some new incentives if his side qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
The Red Devils are hoping Fred can help them finish in the top four but know that the club could qualify for Europe’s top competition if they finish fifth and Manchester City’s UCL ban is upheld.
An Old Trafford source told The Sun: ‘There was no doubt to Fred’s ability, but he found it difficult in the beginning.
‘He has properly settled now – that includes his young family. He knows he has the full backing of Ole.
‘United were happy to hear Fred sees himself here for a long time – things have come full circle.’
He looked as though he was on the verge of quitting the club under the previous manager Jose Mourinho as he only made 12 PL starts last season.
But Fred has now been revitalised under Ole Gonna Solskjaer and wants to stay for a long time.
The Brazil international held discussions with the club throughout the early part of the campaign in an aim to boost his confidence.
United are said to be in no rush to hand him a fresh contract but talks are expected to take place at the end of the year.
