The Mancunian club want to sign the England international from Borussia Dortmund but have had a hard time doing so given his extortionate valuation.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has shown a keen interest in strengthening his attacking prowess, hence the interest in Sancho and also the likes of Jack Grealish. But it’s not been easy for him, and he fears it may be even harder in the next summer.
According to ESPN, Manchester United would ideally like to sign Sancho this summer because they fear waiting for next season, given the increase in competition.
If anything, though, this should give the Red Devils great inspiration. They should be motivated to achieve one of two things; paying the price to bring him to Old Trafford this summer or working hard to achieve some silverware this season so they’ll be in a better place than their competitors in the summer of 2021.
United are a huge club and it would be rather telling of their demise if they fear a little competition. They have always been huge in the transfer window and never feared a little competition, and it shouldn’t be the case now, either. They are in the Champions League and prepared to kick off their EPL campaign this weekend against Crystal Palace.
Sancho is a trusted talisman for Dortmund, therefore you can understand their reluctance to sell him.
However, it also helps that the Englishman has not shown any real desire to push for a move away, leaving United and their competitors unsure of where they stand.
To save embarrassment and resources, I think it would be best for the Red Devils to wait until next summer but of course I would say that, I am a neutral fan, after all.
