Man United have reportedly made the shock decision not to seal the transfer of Watford forward Ismaila Sarr before October 16.
PL clubs and EFL clubs can still do business for another week despite the main transfer window closing on Monday night, but it seems Red Devils will not be using this chance to make any further changes to their squad.
It casts major doubt over a deal for Senegal international, with the Red Devils decision likely to be down to the fact that they probably couldn’t get him in in time to register him in their UCL squad.
The main reason why a deal for the Senegalese winger did not happen in the first place is that Red Devils wanted a loan deal.
While it’s easy to see the logic behind that decision, Red Devils would surely still benefit from trying to sign Ismaila so he could be an option for them in PL matches.
Sarr looked an exciting prospect with his form in the PL last campaign and is surely too good to be spending a campaign in the Championship with Hornets.
Still, it looks like the 22-year-old forward will have to make do with life at Vicarage Road and we imagine top teams will continue to keep an eye on his progress. However, Watford insisted on a permanent transfer and that scuppered the proposed transfer.
Ismaila scored six goals in 30 games for the Vicarage Road outfit last campaign. Sarr has played twice in the EFL so far this term. However, he may now end up waiting until winter to make his exit.
