Manchester United are allegedly still interested in signing Roma playmaker Nicolo Zaniolo.
The 21-year-old hasn’t played a single minute of football for his Italian team this campaign due to a serious knee injury, and Nicolo is unlikely to return before the end of the season.
Zaniolo has netted 14 times and registered six assists in 69 matches for Roma, though, and has been linked with a transfer to Manchester United over the last 12 months or so.
According to a report from La Repubblica, there is still interest from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, who have previously explored the possibility of an exchange involving out-of-favour midfielder Donny van de Beek.
The report states that Roma are determined to keep hold of Nicolo, while a move for the Netherlands international to Italy could prove difficult due to his substantial wages at Old Trafford.
The highly-rated Italy international has a contract with the Rome-based heavyweights until June 2024.
Elsewhere, Borussia Dortmund are reportedly interested in bringing Brighton & Hove Albion centre-back and long-term Manchester United target Ben White to Signal Iduna Park during this summer’s transfer market.
The 23-year-old star has been in impressive form for the Seagulls during the 2020-21 season, making 35 appearances in all competitions, and the Englishman has a contract at the Amex until June 2024.
