Man United could reportedly switch their attention to Norwich City’s right-back Max Aarons if they fail to secure services of former Tottenham defender Kieran Trippier during this summer’s transfer window.
The 20-times English champions s are seemingly keen to bring a new right-back to the team ahead of the next campaign but have thus far been frustrated in their pursuit of Trippier.
According to ESPN, the Red Devils are unwilling to spend more than £30m for the England international, who has impressed for Atletico Madrid after transfer from the Spurs.
The report suggests that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side could instead move for Norwich City ace, Aarons, who is also believed to be a transfer target for Tottenham and Arsenal ahead of the upcoming season.
The 21-year-old excelled for Norwich during the 2020-21 season, scoring two goals and adding five assists in 45 league games for the Championship winners.
Aarons also made a strong impression for the Canaries during the 2019-20 campaign in the English top-tier despite his team’s relegation back to the second tier.
Trippier is more experienced than Aarons, however, Man Utd could go for cheaper options in order to strengthen different areas ahead of the next campaign.
