Manchester United are set to table an offer for Barcelona attacker Antoine Griezmann, according to a recent report.
The Catalan heavyweights are in financial disarray and were not able to tie Lionel Messi down to a fresh deal for that reason, despite the six-time Ballon d’Or winner’s willingness to stay.
Blaugrana are still desperately seeking to cut their wage bill during the current transfer market, and Griezmann has reportedly instructed his entourage to find him another club.
The Red Devils are not thought to be eyeing a swoop for a new forward after Edinson Cavani extended his stay, but according to a report from Todofichajes, they have been alerted to Antoine’s availability.
The report adds that the 20-time English champions have touched base with Ronald Koeman’s side to register their interest in the 30-year-old star and are expected to make an official approach later this month.
Antoine arrived at Camp Nou from Barcelona’s league rivals Atletico Madrid for €120 million (£108 million) in the summer transfer market of 2019, and he boasts 35 goals and 17 assists from 99 matches in all competitions for Barcelona.
Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have also been touted with an interest in the World Cup-winning Frenchman, whose Barcelona deal does not expire until June 2024.
