Manchester United signed Alex Telles last summer to increase the competition, quality and depth as far as the left back position is concerned.

Luke Shaw has been an inconsistent player for us over the years, moreover, he has spent a lot of time on the treatment table as well.

However, this season, the England international has proved to be one of the best left backs in the country and due to his impressive form, Telles has had to warm the bench under the management of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

If reports in the media are anything to go by then Man Utd are prepared to agree personal terms worth £49million with the 25-year-old .

According to an exclusive story covered by The Star, the Old Trafford club are going to offer Shaw a five year contract that will make him earn £190,000-a-week (£49million until the end of the 2025-26 campaign).

The famous British outlet have claimed that when Telles arrived, Shaw’s position in the starting XI was under threat but he has earned the spot by performing consistently well. In such a scenario, the former Porto star is unhappy and could leave Old Trafford in the next transfer window.

So far, Luke Shaw has featured in 29 games in the PL this term, scored 1 goal (vs Manchester City) and also provided 6 assists. More importantly, he has helped Man Utd keep 12 clean sheets.

His impressive form convinced Gareth Southgate, who opted to select him for the recently held World Cup qualification fixtures. The ex Southampton left back featured for full 90 minutes vs Albania and provided an assist (opening goal) in the contest that England won 2-0 on the night.

Have your say – Do you think Man Utd should agree lucrative terms worth £49million with Shaw?
