Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to seal the transfer of his compatriot Erling Haaland and reportedly ‘keeps calling’ the Borussia Dortmund attacker to convince him over a move.

The Manchester United boss is a huge admirer of the gifted centre-forward and tried to sign the Norway international before his transfer from Red Bull Salzburg to the Bundesliga.

The player has gone from strength to strength since, banging in 33 goals in 31 matches in all competitions this season.

All of Europe’s giants are determined to land him, with Manchester City, Barcelona, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Chelsea, Juventus and Bayern Munich all touted with interest in the forward.

According to Spanish publication AS, Ole is doing everything in his power to recruit the forward he coached at Molde. And he is calling him regularly in order to put across the club’s case.

Erling has made it clear he is keen to feel valued by whoever he joins next.  Quizzed by VG what the most important factor over a possible move would be, he replied: ‘They must want me.’

In other news, Manchester United are allegedly edging closer to the surprise signing of Hugo Lloris this summer, say reports in France.

The Tottenham keeper has just 15 months left to run on his contract in north London and is yet to reach an agreement on a renewal.
