Manchester United are allegedly interested in Malmo star Anel Ahmedhodzic.
The 21-year-old centre-back was interesting Chelsea in 2020 and could well have seen a move to the Blues blocked, according to the player’s father.
The Bosnian ace’s displays in Sweden had alerted the west Londoners, with Atalanta also said to be keen.
However, according to Anel’s father Mirsad, the Blues were more than interested and in fact want to land the player but Mirsad accused his son’s agent, Markus Rosenberg, of blocking the deal.
“He’s [Rosenberg] not doing his job. He has told Marina [Granovskaia] at Chelsea that Anel is not going there,” he told Sportbladet.
“I can start by saying that I am very disappointed,” Anel said after learning of the comments of his father.
Anel then came close to a £4 million move to Italy with Atalanta in January, according to a report by Sport Bladet.
However, the transfer never materialised as La Dea “ran out of time”. That has now left the door ajar for the Red Devils.
Sport Witness tentatively credit the French news outlet Jeunes Footeux as the source, but the fees are significantly different.
They claim the Serie A side still have an €11 million agreement in place to sign the player, who is out of contract in 2023.
The source also suggests the English giants would put up €13m for the player in an attempt to steal from under the noses of Atalanta.
It’s claimed Ole is keen on gazumping Atalanta this summer as he looks to strengthen his defence. United are said to have a centre-back and a striker at the top of their wanted list.
