MAN UTD BEATING MAN CITY TO BLOCKBUSTER £74 MILLION TRANSFER AFTER CHIEF GIVES THE GREEN LIGHT.

Manchester United are reportedly leading the race to sign Napoli ace ‘Kalidou Koulibaly’ for a fee reaching £74 million. Fierce rivals Manchester United and Manchester City were battling to get the services of the Centre back.  Koulibaly is a very good defender and many clubs want him in this transfer window like the previous one. However, Kalidou Koulibaly eventually stayed at the Italian club for the 2019/20 season.

Napoli chief Aurelio De Laurentiis has apparently agreed to the move. Moreover, the deal could take place as soon as the transfer window opens. Italy is in a big crisis as it has become the epicenter of the European coronavirus crisis.

There are serious worries about the future Serie A will pan out. Thus, clubs are looking to sell their assets and recover the loss. Several of the countries’ biggest clubs, including Cristiano Ronaldo’s Juventus, have agreed to waive some of their player’s wages.

Italian publication La Repubblica claims that Napoli rejected three bids of over £100 m for their prized defender from Premier League clubs last summer. But, De Laurentiis wants Koulibaly’s £5.2m a year contract of the books to ease the financial burden on the club. Manchester clubs can certainly afford such high wages for a player like him.

Both Manchester clubs look deeply interested in signing Koulibaly. In addition to that French club, Paris Saint Germain have been keeping close tabs on the centre-back. PSG are looking for a long-term Thiago Silva replacement at Parc Des Princes. However, La Repubblica claims that Premier League clubs lead the race at the moment.

Kalidou Koulibaly will definitely be offloaded to Manchester United in the summer window. Furthermore, United’s defence will prove to be the best in the league. They will have Harry Maguire, Wan-Bissaka, Shaw and Koulibaly.
