Manchester United chief executive Ed Woodward has given his go ahead for the club to bid for Watford winger Ismaila Sarr according to journalist IndyKaila.
Ismaila Sarr was part of the Watford squad that suffered relegation from the Premier League at the end of the 2019/20 season.
The Senegalese international signed for the Hornets at the start of the aforementioned season.
Manchester United have submitted a £41.7m bid for Sarr as per the report via the previously mentioned journalist. He made this known through his official Twitter account.
The Daily Telegraph had earlier disclosed that the Red Devils made a bid for the player and they were told by Watford that Sarr will only leave the club on loan and that it will take at least £40m to prise him away.
Ismaila Sarr was one of the best players at Watford in the last campaign with an output of 5 goals and 6 assists in 22 Premier League appearances.
Liverpool were interested in the Senegalese player before they opted for Diogo Jota.
Manchester United are in the market for a right-wing specialist and Ismaila Sarr is their alternative target for the position.
Jadon Sancho of German side Borussia Dortmund is the main target but his club is proving to be difficult.
