Man United are reportedly planning to make summer move for Burnley winger Dwight McNeil and are clear favourites to lure him at Old Trafford.

McNeil established himself as a Turf Moor regular last campaign and already being involved in the 15-goals in English top-tier at the age of 20.

The England U-21s international is attracting interest from some of top teams in the Premier League, with Arsenal and Chelsea also believed to keeping tabs on his signature.

Lancs Live claimed that Man United are the most likely suitors for the 20-year-old forward, who started his career in the Red Devils youth ranks before making the transfer to Burnley back in 2014.

Speaking last week, ex-Burnley player Kieran Trippier urged the Rochdale-born forward to snub interest from the Premier League big boys and remain with the Clarets in order to continue his progress.

“If I was him I’d stay put and keep playing games,” Trippier told Burnley Express, when asked about McNeil’s future. “For somebody like him, who is doing really well, why would you move now? There’s no point.

“Just keep performing well on the biggest stage and stay put. He’s got the right manager to guide him and he’ll be in no rush to go anywhere. He’s playing well week in week out for a Premier League club. He’s a big player for Burnley.”
