Sergio Romero was signed by Louis van Gaal for Manchester United and since then, the Argentine shot stopper has warmed the bench at Old Trafford.

Since the retirement of Alex Ferguson, Europa League is the biggest title that the Red Devils have won and in that competition, the former Sampdoria man proved to be world class under Mourinho.

As per the latest reports going on in the media, the Old Trafford outfit are prepared to let him leave before the end of the domestic transfer window.

Recently, Romero’s wife has criticized the way Man United have treated the player. According to The Athletic, Everton moved in and offered a £2million loan fee and agreed to pay the 33-year-old’s full salary of £100,000-a-week.

However, United rejected the Toffees’ proposal and that has frustrated the player, who moved down the pecking order with the return of Dean Henderson.

The famous media outlet have mentioned that Man Utd are ready to offload the shot stopper on permanent basis and are demanding a fee of £8million. Not to forget, the domestic transfer window is still open till October 16, so, Romero may get his move away from Old Trafford.

Last season, the 96-capped international kept 4 clean sheets in 5 FA Cup appearances to help the Red Devils qualify for the last four. He deserved to start in the semis but Solskjaer opted to bring De Gea back, who made two blunders that led to United’s elimination from the tournament.

Similarly, Romero helped Man United reach the semi final of the Europa League by keeping 7 clean sheets in 9 appearances. He was not rewarded, instead, once again the Norwegian boss started De Gea in the last four and Sevilla won the contest.

Recently, the manager did not even select him in the Champions League squad. So, it will be fair to say that the Red Devils have treated their loyal servant in a very sad manner and he should be allowed to leave without hurdles.
