Manchester United would allegedly be willing to listen to proposals for Phil Jones during this summer’s transfer market if they bring a new centre-back to the club.

The 20-time English champions are said to be determined to sign a new central defender ahead of the 2021-22 campaign, with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looking for a left-footed player to boost his roster.

According to a report by ESPN, if the Red Devils are successful in their attempts in the upcoming transfer market then the club would be open to allowing Phil to leave on a permanent basis.

The 28-year-old only penned a new deal at Old Trafford two years ago and has more than two years left to run on his existing agreement with the English giants.

He has made 224 appearances for the club in all competitions but hasn’t featured for the club since January 2020, having struggled with a serious knee injury which eventually required surgery.

The out-of-favour player has won the Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Europa League during his time in Manchester.

Meantime, Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Braut Haaland said that it is “nice” to be mentioned with Real Madrid when quizzed how it felt to be wanted by Los Blancos’ supporters.

“It’s always nice if someone wants you,” he told reporters.

Manchester United have been heavily linked with the striker, while the Galacticos are also said to be determined to bring the player to the Bernabeu.

The 20-year-old ace is enjoying another remarkable season for BVB, finding the back of the net on 25 occasions in 24 games in all competitions, including eight goals in five UCL outings.
