Manchester United are set to sign 16-year-old center-back Willy Kambwala from Ligue 2 side Sochaux for a fee around €4m including bonuses. There is also a sell-on clause included in the deal. [source: RMC Sport via Get French Football News]
The Red Devils are expected to sign a four-year contract with Kambwala. RMC Sport’s Loïc Tanzi reported in July that a bid of €1m was rejected for the defender.
Manchester United have added the likes of Charlie McNeil, Marc Jurado, Alvaro Fernandez Carreras, Alejandro Garnacho, Isak Hansen-Aaoren, Logan Pye, Joe Hugill, and Radek Vitek earlier in the transfer window to their youth setup.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is pondering over first-team signings but the academy setup looks as solid as ever.
Kambwala will only add more depth and could follow the footsteps of Axel Tuanzebe and Teden Mengi to make a name for himself.
Kambwala is from a French background and we hope he lives upto the expectations.
