Manchester United have a chance to pile on Liverpool’s poor run of form this weekend.
There has to be a winner at the weekend when United host Jurgen Klopp’s side in the FA Cup. Extra-time and penalties will decide it if need be.
The prospect of a possible 120 minute match is likely to feed into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team selection.
With a Premier League game upcoming on Wednesday, Solskjaer will not want to exhaust his top stars, who may be needed late in the game and for extra-time anyway.
United can name nine substitutes and use five. These will include stars like Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba, Edinson Cavani and Fred, to use if required.
There could be experimental options too. Amad Diallo might be included and make his first ever appearance from the bench.
There may even be a last ever appearance for Odion Ighalo. He did not get his farewell game against Watford, and if United are leading comfortably, the Nigerian might get a run out in what would likely be his last game before his loan expires.
