According to Spanish publication Deportes Cuatro (h/t The Express), Real Madrid star Gareth Bale is ready to join Manchester United on loan.

The 31-year-old’s stock has fallen at the Santiago Bernabeu and appears to have no future at the club.

In fact, he looked to be out last summer when he agreed to move to the Chinese Super League. Real, however, blocked the transfer at the 11th hour.

Real manager Zinedine Zidane does not favour the player and froze him out for large parts of last season. Bale made just 12 starts in the league as Real recaptured the league title from Barcelona.

While United and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Bale, his massive wages continue to be a sticking point. The Welshman earns a mammoth  £14m-a-year in wages.

With still two years on his contract, Madrid will have to pay him £28m in wages if they keep him at the club. (h/t Daily Star)

The report goes on to say that United may have given Real an opportunity to soften that blow. The Red Devils are ready to take the winger on loan but will not match the wages he gets at Real.

This could see Real foot a part of the wage while the Welshman plies his trade at Old Trafford. Both clubs will however have to come to an agreement for this to happen.

In a boost for United, Real’s desperation to part ways with Bale could work out in our favour. This could however mean the end of our pursuit of Jadon Sancho.
