Manchester United have been linked with Ousmane Dembele for quite some time and the latest reports seem positive for the Red Devils.

According to AS, the French international is close to securing a move to Man United from Barcelona.

The renowned Spanish outlet have mentioned that the Catalan giants are willing to sell him for a fee of 50 to 60 million euros and will use some of the funds to lure former Old Trafford attacker Memphis Depay from Lyon.

Well-known Mundo Deportivo journalist Francesc Aguilar recently confirmed on his twitter account that the Red Devils have convinced the player to sign for them.

Last night, another reliable reporter in the form of Sky Sport’s Angelo Mangiante claimed that the attacker is getting closer to joining Man Utd.

Dembele directly contributed in 31 goals in 36 starts for Borussia Dortmund in the 2016-17 campaign and Barca opted to break the bank, splashed 145 million euros (AS) to sign him as a replacement for Neymar.

Unfortunately, the Les Bleus star has not been able to adequately replace the Brazilian attacker mainly due to consistent injury concerns.

The former Rennes winger missed 27 games in the 2017-18 campaign, 13 fixtures in the 2018-19 season and 40 games last term (Transfermarkt).

When fit, the World Cup winner has been able to showcase his world class talent but in Spain, that has been a rare sight. He can play on either flank, dribble and strike the ball effectively with both feet.

In all fairness, Manchester United would have a top quality player if they are able to sign him and keep him fit. He will be out of contract in the summer of 2022 and at the moment, Barcelona are paying him around £209,000-a-week (Marca).
