In the winter transfer window, Joshua King was desperate to leave Bournemouth in order to sign for Manchester United (The Sun) but the move did not go through.
As per the latest update provided by the star himself, he is hoping that Man United will push to get his signing done this summer.
King played for United’s Youth teams and only managed to make two appearances for the senior Red Devils side before leaving the club permanently in 2013.
The Norwegian international has been a key player for Bournemouth over the years, however, the Cherries were relegated from the Premier League and the forward is now hoping to return to the top flight.
The 28-year-old has admitted that it would be amazing if Manchester United would move to secure his signing this time around. He told TV2:
“I have a dream to play in the Champions League. Whether it will happen this season or in two years, I do not know. But I have a dream about it that all boys have.
“What if United are still interested? That would be amazing. I was at United for five years and I learned lot there.”
King is a versatile talent, who can play anywhere in the attacking third but naturally, he is a secondary striker. In the last campaign, Eddie Howe mainly used him on the left flank, he started 24 league games and directly contributed in 10 goals (6 goals and 4 assists).
For the senior international side, he made his debut back in 2012 and so far, he has played 46 games and scored 17 goals.
Man United have not been able to reinforce their attack this summer and they really have to act swiftly to strengthen the offense because the new season is going to start very soon.
In your opinion, should Solskjaer move to sign Joshua King? As per reports (The Express), a number of Premier League teams are interested in luring the forward and Bournemouth are looking to get £30million from his sale.
