Manchester United are ready to make a shock move for Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi this summer, recent reports.
According to The Daily Express, as relayed by Sky Sports, Matteo may be about to leave the club after angering manager Mikel Arteta with his attitude.
The 21-year-old star, who joined Arsenal from French Ligue 2 outfit Lorient in 2018, started his career in the famed PSG academy before moving to the Stade du Moustoir.
The Gunners are planning to offload the unwanted Frenchman to clubs in swap deals as Mikel is aware he will be strapped for cash this summer.
Guendouzi hasn’t played for Arsenal since a controversial incident versus Brighton last month.
However, the midfielder has drawn attention from La Liga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona, with Arsenal willing to sell after a clash with Neal Maupay.
Despite his antics, Matteo has played 24 games in the Premier League for Mikel’s side this season.
While some supporters may be shocked by United’s interest, it is easy to said why Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is considering a swoop for the £36m-valued ace.
Nemanja Matic is the club’s only recognised holding midfielder at the moment, which is a major cause for concern.
On the other hand, Matteo is still at the early stages of his professional career, and he has been compared to midfielder Cesc Fabregas, who was also linked with a switch to Old Trafford.
Ole could actually kill two birds with one stone and use Chris Smalling as part of a swap for the talent, as the north Londoners are desperate to sign a defender this summer.
