Man United are in negotiations with Porto over defender Alex Telles although they are yet to reach a deal with the club for a transfer. Man United are looking to beat PSG to the 27-year-old left-back after missing out on Sergio Reguilon who is ready to confirm a permanent move to Tottenham.

Discussions are underway for Alex, and reports in France have suggested that a deal has been reached, but the club sources insist this is premature. An agreement is still very much still possible, and even probable, though as Telles would only cost nearly £17m.

With Brazil international’s deal ready to expire next summer, the Dragons will be happy to cash in on him while they can, and with both the Red Devils and PSG interested, they will be able to.

The Brazilian defender has been a regular at Portuguese club since arriving at the club in 2016, playing 192 games for the club in all tournaments, scoring 24 goals and winning two league trophies in that time.

Red Devils are not short at left-back, with Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams available to the Norwegian coach, but with Shaw continually prone to injury, it is a position they have been looking to bolster this summer.

Sergio Reguilon was an initial target, but Red Devils were put off by Real Madrid wanting to insert a buy-back clause for nearly £40m and that put Man United off. Tottenham were willing to agree to the terms, though, and are set to confirm Spain international in a deal worth nearly £27m.
